My life at 40...

Because I can & I want to...

I had to cut a section of my backing off the quilt because it was too big. I couldn't let the discarded piece go to waste. Soooooo... I MADE A TABLE RUNNER!!! (I feel so crafty, I don't know what to do with myself. LOL)

I love the stitching I used for the binding on this one. I wish I would have thought to use this on the quilt!!

 

Right now I have the table runner up on my kitchen counter because my dining room table is COVERED in quilting stuff. It is too funny. Perhaps I need a sewing room now?? LOL

OH! Before I forget, I will try to get the quilt pattern on the ole blog this weekend. I have to do a little scanning & such to make it work, so be patient with me. But I will do my best to get it posted THIS WEEKEND.

Penguin Palooza

Yep, the penguins are going crazy over here. They all want to make an appearance on the cards. Perhaps I should feature penguins the rest of the month? Hmmm...now there's an idea!! :)

Scraps from the other day...

It's basically the same card that I made for the TCP Tuesday color challenge with a few minor changes.

The base card is a bit longer and the espresso background runs the width of the card. I moved the focal point to the right and used a different button. In addition, I used one of my own images, Bubba, that I designed for Odd Bird Planet. Isn't he the sweetest? My heart is swooning right now...

TCPTUES193 Challenge

There's a color challenge this week over at The Cat's Pajamas. I debated whether to play or not but my need for birthday cards won out & I figured I would take on a challenege while I was at it. :)

I love all the new stamps that TCP has come out with but I decided to go digging for an old Sprinkle image. Poor thing, she doesn't get played with as often as she would like. I think I need get her a little cat nip and a new fluffy bed. LOL

This is a test, only a test.

Test, test, test, anyone out there? Just kidding. I am just messing with my custom CSS. Makes me sound like I really know what I am doing, huh? LOL

I already missed one (sorry Pancho) and will have to make a special belated birthday card for that wonderful, beautiful, sister of mine... but I am on the ball for a couple of birthdays next week. YEAH!! (Just so you know, I did make sure that Pancho had a couple bags of Cartel Coffee Beans just in time for her Happy Birthday though. See, I am not ALL THAT BAD. LOL)

So, back to the b-day cards...I decided to use some stamps that have never been inked up before (FOR SHAME!). I pulled out "Oh Chute!" from The Cat's Pajamas and came up with this little ditty...

TCPTUES192 Challenge

I am a little behind on my TCP challenges...oopsie! LOL

This weeks challenge requires you to do a little embossing on your card whether it be dry embossing, heat embossing or even using an embossing folder (which is what I did).

I don't know about you but that is friggin' amazing! Especially for me!! LOL

I was determined to make a card tonight. I don't know what caused me to get all worked up about it but darn it, if I had to stay up all night to do it...I WAS!! 

I made this sweet little card based off Anna Wight's super cute card HERE. Now, I know my little guy is sitting off to the left a bit but you have to understand...this was my "copy/go ahead & make mistakes on this one" image. My coloring turned out pretty good on this one, my other one? Well, let's just say it looks like someone puked on him. LOLOLOL

• Paper: Love Me from My Mind's Eye, Bravo Burgundy & some blue color from my scrap pile, the cream color is Poision Ivy
