March 2010

It's Sunday evening already...can you believe it?

My weekend flew by this weekend. I didn't even get a chance to stamp. What a complete bummer! I am hoping to finish up a card from last weekend tonight and then I have a couple of ideas for a St. Patrick's Day card. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to get that done before I hit the sack.

Last weekend when I was enjoying my stamp time, I made this fun card...

  • Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs, saying from A-muse
  • Paper: Pacific Blue, Real Red & White
  • Inks: Black Versafine & Copic Markers
  • Misc: Ribbon & Circle Nesties

I love the images that Anna designs for Whipper Snapper Designs. They make me smile. And her chicken stamps? Well, they remind my of my sister, I think that's why I love them so much. Pancho & her crazy chickens and her dream of living on a farm. heehee

Alright, I am off like a prom dress. I have a couple of things to do before hitting the sack.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Tuesday, it's me, Karrie...

Can you tell me if you have seen Friday? I have been searching for him since yesterday. LOL

Did I tell you that Libby & I have a new routine? We have been walking in the morning and again as soon as I get home. The whole idea is to tire her out so that she will quit destroying the backyard. So GOOD!! The destruction has decreased, it's amazing. Notice I didn't say that the destruction is over, oh no, it is still there, but it is definitely less than it was and it has only been TWO DAYS! WOOHOO!!! I love it! Plus, I am getting some much needed exercise. DOUBLE YAHOO!!!

What was that? Where is my card? Well, aren't you a pushy one! LOL

  • Stamps: Poppy Stamps & A-muse
  • Paper: Rose Red, Vanilla & Cosmo Cricket
  • Inks: Black Versafine, Waterbrush & Re-inkers
  • Misc: Martha Stewart Punch, Ribbon & Button

I love these little gnomes from Poppy Stamps. The images are too sweet. I really need to use them more often!! But that will have to wait for another day as I really need to hit the sack.

I hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!

Back to work today...

Somebody call the whan-bu-lance!! How am I going to survive now that I have had a week off? YIKES!!

Plus, this morning, I am starting a new routine with Libby. I am going to start walking her in the morning AND when I get home in hopes to tire her out so that she isn't so destructive. I sure hope Cesar Millan is right and that this will work. I am over half way through his book right now and I am learning tons on how to be leader of the pack. Who knew that dogs just wanted to be dogs? I look at my pampered pets and think to myself..."what a spoiled life they lead!" But really, they could and probably are, unhappy? So sad to think that in making myself happy (by loving them & spoiling them rotten & basically treating them like kids) I am not making them happy. WHAN!

Anywho, enough about me failing as a pet is my card for today...

  • Stamps: A-muse
  • Paper: Chocolate Chip & Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg
  • Inks: Vintage Sepia Versafine, Waterbrush & Re-inkers
  • Misc: Quickutz Scallop Border, Twine, Button from Papertrey Ink & Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Yesterday was a creative day for me. I used stamps that have been collecting dust for awhile now. I can't wait to show you what I made. You will have to keep checking back throughout the week to see everything. Also, some of you should check your mailbox later in the week cause I am sending cards out. WOOT! WOOT! I love happy mail, don't you?

Alright, I better go, I have a little dog that needs to be walked. Hope you all have a FANTASTIC Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Bird-day!

I have been having so much fun stamping this past week. It is so refreshing to create something rather than just sit at my desk and make NOTHING.

Yesterday I pulled out one of my FAVORITE Whipper Snapper Designs stamps. I absolutely adore Anna's illustrations & stamps, don't you?

  • Stamps: Birthday Flight from Whipper Snapper Designs & saying from A-muse
  • Paper: Basic Grey Lollipop Shoppe, White & Real Read
  • Inks: Black Versafine & Copic Markers
  • Misc: Sakura Glitter Pen, Silver Eyelet & Red Grosgrain

I have always loved this paper from Basic Grey. It is so bright & cheery. It makes every card smile.

So yesterday, I went to see Avatar with my honey. Goodness, that was a LOOOOOOOOONG movie. I have to tell you though, I enjoyed it. Do I think it deserves an Oscar? Don't get me wrong, it was a fantastic movie but there were so many other movies that really "moved" me this year. Just sayin...

Anywho, I am off to get some more stamping in...I have one day left of vacation and I am going to enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Dad is a little under the weather...

so much so that he didn't even want to talk to me on the phone the other day. My feelings were a little hurt that he didn't want to speak to his favorite daughter (totally kidding...heehee...that one was for you Pancho...LOL) but I am big girl, I sucked it up and got over it. I may have to speak to a therapist about it later but for now I am handling the rejection. LOL

Anywho, I felt so bad for him that I made him this card...

  • Stamps: You Sick Thing by The Cat's Pajamas
  • Paper: Play by American Crafts, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke & White
  • Inks: Black Versafine & Copic Markers
  • Misc: Felt, Cuttlebug Flower Die, Twine & Crimper, Buttons are from Papertrey Ink

I went ahead and incorporated the TCP Tuesday Sketch challenge as well, see below:

Can you believe it is already TCP Tues 99? That is insane! I am going to definitely participate for 100 next week. It is a milestone for sure!

Anywho, I need to get in the shower. We are off to see Avatar this morning (FINALLY!). Alice in Wonderland will have to wait until next week. Bummer.

Hope you all have a FANTASTIC day & thanks for stopping by!

I have some GREAT news!!

I went to my eye surgery appointment this morning and guess what?? I didn't have to have surgery!! YEAH! Doctor said that the problem area looks "mild" and that we just need to keep an EYE on it (get it??? LOL). WOOHOO!!! I am beyond ecstatic right now. :)

Anywho, I just thought I would share my excitement.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's talk coffee...

Right now, I am DYING for an iced latte from Peet's in California. Mmmmm, that sounds so yummy right now! I think I am going to have to settle for a latte made from home though & this sweet card...

  • Stamps: Memory Box
  • Paper: Basic Black & Basic Grey
  • Inks: Black Versafine
  • Misc: Liquid Applique White, Fiskars Border Punch & Black Grosgrain Ribbon

So... I am FINALLY having my eye surgery this morning. What a way to end the vacation, huh? I know. I know. Hopefully I will only be down for the day and be able to enjoy the weekend. I really want to see Alice in Wonderland this weekend. I told Robert, even if I have to watch it with ONE eye, I wanna see it! LOL

Back to the whole coffee thing...this was my coffee process this morning (since Peet's was not available to me...WHAN!)...

My milk is ready to be steamed...I usually only use 1 cup...

Espresso has been measured & tamped...

My espresso machine is ready to start steaming my milk...

While my milk is busy steaming & frothing, I usually add 1 pump Sugar Free Vanilla to my coffee cup...

I like a little foam on the top of my latte, not a lot, but just enough to make me happy! :)

Now I need to clean off the steam wand...(oh yes, this is quite a process I tell you! LOL)

All clean...moving on now...

Now for the good stuff! You know you are going to have a GREAT latte when you see that delicious foam on the top of your espresso...mmmmm...

Oh mama...lord help's gonna be a good one!!! Ahhhhhhh - haaaahhhhhh!! Do you hear the angels singing? I do, I do!

Perfection I tell you...perfection!

Viola! My morning latte...YEAH!! So tasty...mmmm....

And there you have it folks, how to make a latte at home. It's no iced latte from Peet's but it will definitely do the trick. :)

Oh geez, I better get going. I still have to jump in the shower before my appointment this morning.

Have a FAB-O day and thanks for stopping by!

Hoppy Easter Easy!

I am ahead of schedule right now with my holidays. I already have TWO Easter cards made. WOOT! WOOT!! AHHHH-MAZING!! LOL

  • Stamps: Saying from A-muse
  • Paper: Certainly Celery & Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg
  • Ink: Vintage Sepia Versafine
  • Misc: Button from Papertrey Ink, Twine & Sticker from Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg

This card was sooooo EASY to make. I hardly ever use stickers in my cards. I think there is something in my head that says, "too easy, too easy, don't do it." But then again, what's wrong with easy once & awhile? Everyone deserves a little easy. Right? Right!

So today I am continuing with the never ending pile of laundry in my closet. Yes, I have been working on it since Monday. LOL What can I say? Things are VERY relaxed around here. There is no rush to do anything. I LOVE IT!

I showed up for my eye surgery appointment yesterday and they told me that I had the wrong day. WHAT!? I explained to them that my Doctor had made the appt for me and that he specifically stated March 3. I even had him repeat it twice. UGH! Needless to say, I begged them to re-schedule me for this week since I was on vacation. My appt is now re-scheduled for Friday at 8:10am. Keep good thoughts for me Friday morning & thanks for thinking of me yesterday, I really appreciate it!! :)

Alright, well, I think I am going to squeeze a little stamping time in. I hope you have a great day today!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Won't you join me for coffee?

I am sipping single today as my husband has abandoned me for Monster Energy drinks. WHAN! Do those energy drinks really work? I mean, seriously? Cause I would prefer a nice latte over those drinks any day of the week!!

  • Stamps: Coffee set by There She Goes; saying & small latte from A-Muse
  • Paper: Going Grey, Garden Green, Cryogen White from & Black suede paper
  • Ink: Black Versafine, Garden Green
  • Misc: Sakura Glitter Pen, Dot Embossing Folder (it is hard to see from the picture but the black suede paper has been embossed) & White Ribbon

This was a fun card to make. The embossed black suede really looks sharp. I wish my photo taking skills were better so that you could see it. I really need to start playing with my camera settings & how I take photos. You don't learn unless you try, right? RIGHT!

Well my friends, I better hit the road. I have eye surgery this morning on my right eye. Apparently I have a vein that is leaking fluid near my retina & it needs to get fixed ASAP. Keep good thoughts for me & I will see you all tomorrow (hopefully)!

Thanks for stopping by!
