September 2012

They're HERE!!!

So today we added to the Sweet Baby clan. Yep, we now have 3 beautiful labs & one shorty...a Basset Hound named Abby. We are also temporarily housing Abby's sister, Chloe, who will eventually go live with my Sister & her family once certain demands are met... LOL

This here is Chloe...isn't she a doll?

Chloe decided to take on my favorite little Bad, Bad, Girl, Libby...

This is Abby leading Chloe on an adventure...

And here is where they are now...

Yes, that little stinker Chloe is using my sweet baby, Abby as a pillow! It should be the other way around since Chloe is a little porker!! LOL

More updates to follow, I am sure.

Thanks for stopping by!

Preparing for Abby...

Who's Abby? Oh, well, she is our new Basset Hound that we get to bring home next Friday. I am scared & excited all at the same time. It's been 9 yrs since I have had to potty train a dog and puppy train myself & Robert. I am sure there will be tons of laughter and some silent tears at night. (Yes, I tend to break down during potty training.) Robert sucks at it and well, let's be honest, it will all be on me. I am not sure why I agreed to this. Oh yeah, that's right, I took one look at her...

and knew she would be coming home with me. She has the bluest eyes and her coat is blue/gray with brown tips and her little paws have white toes and, and...she has puppy breath and she sucked my finger while I was there and I...WAS SMITTEN!!! I couldn't stop what was happening, it was all too much. Then, I started looking at the rest of them and I wanted to take them all home. I need a bigger house & yard. I do. I need to quit my job so that I can stay home with my sweet babies. I NEED THIS! Why can't the lotto hit for me? WHY???? LOL

Anywho, Robert and I are setting up her nursey this weekend & preparing for her arrival. I am hoping my Sis decides she needs one too & that way Abby can bring home a sister or brother to stay with her until the end of next month. I think it would make her adjustment easier, don't you? Don't you think my sister needs one too??? I do. I really do.

Alright, enough about that. I have more nesting to do. I will chat with you all later.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello My Love...

I sooooo needed you this morning. Especially after tripping over Bailey & taking a pretty hard digger just outside the laundry room. Yep, coffee & breakfast went flying accross the floor, it was a mess. Thank goodness Robert was there. Needless to say, my shoulder is a little sore right now. Ouch!

I just needed a little pick me up after my spill so I made my own "special" coffee which included an extra shot of espresso, some cinnamon & a little whipped topping. DELICIOUS!

But enough about that.

How do you all feel about Christmas cards? Still too early? I know, I feel the same but I went ahead & made one anyway.

My background paper was perfect for this A*Muse Studio set. My only problem was my fine point glue pen wasn't working so I had to use a larger glue pen & well, my glitter looks blobbed on rather than a fine detail. Oh well, someone will like it, or at least I hope they will. LOL

Card deets:

  • Stamps: All from A*Muse Studio
  • Paper: Red, Cream with unknown background paper ( as soon as I relocate that paper pack I will correct this post, sorry about that!)
  • Inks: Black, Green & Yellow chalk inks
  • Misc: Scor-it, Glue pen, Glitter & Ribbon

Okie dokie, I better hit the road. Things to do, naps to take, sewing & stamping to complete and anything else I can squeeze in! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

The last of the Halloween cards...

for now. LOL

I love this card. The background paper, the simplicity, everything about it. I may have to add it to my card hoarder collection. Oh c'mon, you know what I am talking about. I am sure you have a stash similar to mine. LOL

Card deets:

  • Stamps: All from A*Muse Studio
  • Paper: Black, White & background paper from K & Company
  • Inks: Ornage & Black Chalk Inks (yes, I have been loving my chalk inks lately!! LOL)
  • Misc: All dies from A*Muse Studio, Halloween Twine & Sewing Machine

So yesterdays activities did NOT involve a movie. Nope, Robert took his mid-morning nap & that plan went right out the window. I am telling you, the guy could sleep the day away with all his naps! UGH!

Anywho, I kept myself busy. I put together my quilt basting wall in our single car garage.

This will make it 10x easier for me to baste together my quilts by myself. I can't wait to take it for a test drive!!

I also finished 2 quilts and started making some quilted drink coasters for the living room. Today I am planning on seeing that movie (unless more napping takes place) and maybe stamping & quilting. Yep, I think it's going to be another fun/relaxing day. I do love stay-cations!!

I think that's a wrap for now. My stomach is growling so I better get something to eat.

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day & thanks for stopping by!

Batty for You

This is the last of 3 from the Monster Bash set. Can't say that it will be the last time I use it this year though. LOL

I am looking forward to sending these cards out. Is it October yet? Do you think it is too early to start sending them?? LOL

Card deets:

  • Stamps: All from A-Muse Studio (this set is available until Sept 30th!!)
  • Paper: Chevron paper from A-Muse Studio, Black, Pumpkin & White
  • Inks: Black Chalk Ink
  • Misc: Halloween Twine, QK dies

MrsandmanI think we are headed to the movies today to see "Lawless" unless Robert decides to take his mid-morning nap. Yes, my husband is a professional napper. He truly has an amazing gift. LOL

Oh! Remember how I said I was going to give myself a Ombre Manicure? Well, I did and I love it. See...

It's subtle yet sparkly. I have to admit, I was distracted by my nails all day yesterday. They look even better in the sunlight. If you paint your own nails, you should definitely "Google" how to do this. SO EASY & SOOOO FUN!!

Alrighty then, I think I am off. I have a few things I want to accomplish today so I better get my giddy up on! LOL

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!

Trick or Treat, smell my feet...

I was really in the Halloween mood a couple of weeks back. Needless to say, I have a few Halloween cards to show...LOL

Not only do I love the Chevron paper from a*muse studio, I love these funny little guys. They crack me up!

Card deets:

  • Stamps: All from A*Muse Studio (they are part of the Holiday Hoopla catty that is good until Sept 30th)
  • Paper: Chevron paper from A*Muse Studio, Red, Blue & White
  • Inks: Blue, Black & Red Chalk Inks
  • Misc: Squiggly Eyes, Brads & Die from A*Muse Studio

Today I am on a mission to get the correct color thread for a couple of quilts I have in process. I made the mistake of buying thread yesterday without bringing swatches of the fabric...BIG MISTAKE! I guess my memory really is going. LOL

I am also giving myself an ombre manicure. I don't like flashy colors or anything bright on my fingers so I am going to keep it simple. If I like how it turns out, I will post a pic of it later.

Other than that? I think it will be another relaxing day. I can't wait!

Hope you all have a FAB day today & thanks for stopping by!

Got Candy?

If so, can you share some with this guy?

His eyes may be bigger than his stomach though...LOL

  • Card Deets:
  • Stamps: All from A-Muse Studio (they are only available until Sept 30th though)
  • Paper: Chevron from A-Muse Studio, White, Pacific Blue
  • Inks: Black & Blue Chalkinks
  • Misc: Twine, Button, Squiggly Eyes & QK Dies

I have several cards to show you this week. They have been sitting on my desk collecting dust for a couple of weeks now. I guess I haven't felt much like blogging. What can I say? My posts drop off & my readers drop off. I understand. It's my own fault and I am okay with that. I take responsibility for it.

Anywho, I am off like a prom dress. So many things to do, so little time.

Thanks for stopping by!

Life is good, really good!

I started my vacation out right & spent the day quilting with my friend Dana on Saturday. We had a GREAT day. Dana truly is the hostess with the mostest and to top it all off? We got a LOT accomplished! Love that!

Since my day was a little bit, okay, let's be honest, a whole lot of, sunshine on Saturday I have this card to share...

Simple but cute. I love how it came together.

Card deets:

  • Stamps: All from Rosie's Roashow
  • Paper: White & Farmhouse by Crate Paper
  • Inks: Brown, Certainly Celery, waterbrush & re-inkers
  • Misc: Jute, Button, Nesties, Sewing Machine

Yesterday I spent most of the day ripping a seam from one side of two quilts that I had been working on, on Saturday. It's amazing how one little mistake can cost you so much time. Needless to say I learned from it and won't be making that same mistake twice! LOL

Today I am going to put together my quilt basting wall in our single car garage (so excited about that!). It should make basting the quilt 10x easier, especially with one person. I also have more laundry to do & really need to clean the house so that I can enjoy the rest of our vacation. I definitely see more quilting, stamping, movie watching & experimental cooking in the week ahead. Sound like a PERFECT vacation to me!!

All right, I am off to the races.

Have a wonderful & relaxing Labor Day!!!

By the way...thanks for stopping by!! :)
