My life at 40...

TGIF!!

Are you excited the weekend is here? I am. I think Robert & I may even take in the local Home & Garden Show if we can get all our chores done. Woot, Woot! 

Speaking of Home & Garden, I thought I would show a couple of things we have done around the ole house lately. My Dad was asking for photos so I figured I might as well post them here for all to see rather send them to him direct. 

First off, we have the side drive way in our front yard...

Now we have PLENTY of parking space, I love that! What I didn't love was getting a notice from our HOA stating we violated our CC&R's by not getting permission to pour the concrete in the first place. We now have to go to the HOA & have them sign off on our drive way. Hopefully they will like it as much as we do & approve it. LOL 

What I didn't bother telling the HOA was that we also had concrete poured in our backyard too! Such a rebel, huh? LOLOLOL

Did I mention that Robert found an incredible deal on a used hot tub on CraigsList? He did and it's FABULOUS!! 

Oops, how did her picture get in there? That bad, bad girl! LOLOL

We've also done a bunch of planting but I will show that on another post. In the mean time, I will leave you with cheery birthday card...

It's going to be a GREAT week!

Don't you think? I am anxious to get to work this morning. It feels like forever since I have been there. I miss my co-workers & my work. Crazy, I know. It's been like this since December, when I started my new position.

Anywho...

I was off last week to attend a service conference in Hollywood, FL. While Florida has never been on my list of  "must visit" places it was nice to see it (for a couple of days) and then come home. I have a new appreciation for "dry" heat. Seriously! LOL 

I think it was in the low 80's while I was there but the humidity? Goodness gracious! I was drenched walking out of my room. Shoot, even 70 degrees was too hot in my room. I had to keep the thermostat down to 68 just to keep comfortable. What can I say, I am officially a wimp. LOL

I stayed at the Westin Diplomat Resort, have you ever been there? It's pretty nice, see...

This next picture is inside the resort, it doesn't do it justice though. This is the only picture I took of the lobby. What the heck? LOL

The next three photos are the view from the balcony outside of my room. 

 Pretty, huh? OH! And "supposedly," in the water-ways above, there were/are manatees BUT I cannot confirm that as I didn't see ANY. Nope, note a one. WHAN! 

So there you have it. Hollywood, FL in a nut shell. LOL

Howdy!

Well, I am back from a little Christmas/New Year sabbatical. Did you all have a wonderful Christmas & Happy New Year? I sure hope so!

My Christmas was uneventful but New Years was GREAT as my parents came down for a visit. You all know how much I love my parents so ANY time with them is a GREAT time!! :) 

We even ventured out and checked out Watson Lake up by Prescott, AZ. Look how gorgeous the rock formations were...

Amazing, huh? It was so quiet there, until someone came with their screaming toddlers, but we don't need to go into that. LOL 

Anywho, the weather was perfect (if you couldn't already tell by the pictures) and we had a yummy family picnic. It was a wonderful day!

I made this card for a special friend (she loves western stuff) and had to wait until she rcvd it before I could post it.

I don't know what possessed me to make this card yesterday but I felt like I HAD to make a Thanksgiving card before the month was over. Perhaps I thought I could get a head start on next year????

Pancho, did you see the turkey? I used those little canvas sticky sheets I bought at Michael's to make him. HOW COOL IS THAT??? I thought the Copic makers would bleed on the canvas but they didn't. I could have danced a little jig over that, but now that I am "40" and have no rhythm, I just squealed like a little girl. Sad, but true. LOL

Cow's it going?

I made one of the cards I had swimming around in my head this morning. It is a simple one but I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think?

I made a new cloud stencil for my background clouds since I can't find my old one. I am so bummed about that. I loved that other cloud stencil. WHAN!

I have a friend at work that is going in for a heart procedure next month and wanted to make her a special card.

I immediately grabbed Marcus from my amuse collection and got busy. I was having a hard time finding the right saying until I ran accross my "You Sick Thing" stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas that contained the "Say, Ahhhh!" saying. Perfect, just PERFECT!! I think she will get a kick out of this card, don't you?

My lonely little owl...

She has been so neglected. ALL of my owls that I drew for Odd Bird Planet have been neglected. That's what happens when, well, how do I say this? YOU FALL OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH!! Yes, basically, I withdrew from the stamping world and hid in my little hole until I couldn't stand it anymore. What can I say? I'm a girl, I'm hormonal, I do things that don't make sense to anyone and then, then I wake up one day and things are right with the world again.

I mean hey, look at me, I've been stamping like crazy. I've been blogging. I've been smiling. I've even started participating in challenges! Who knew? LOL

So back to my lonely little owl...

Somebody call the whan-bu-lance!! How am I going to survive now that I have had a week off? YIKES!!

Plus, this morning, I am starting a new routine with Libby. I am going to start walking her in the morning AND when I get home in hopes to tire her out so that she isn't so destructive. I sure hope Cesar Millan is right and that this will work. I am over half way through his book right now and I am learning tons on how to be leader of the pack. Who knew that dogs just wanted to be dogs? I look at my pampered pets and think to myself..."what a spoiled life they lead!" But really, they could and probably are, unhappy? So sad to think that in making myself happy (by loving them & spoiling them rotten & basically treating them like kids) I am not making them happy. WHAN!
